Elbow, Wrist and Hand

Physical therapists are able to treat a variety of elbow, wrist and hand pathology. Pain may be short-term, long-lasting, or a chronic condition due to illness or other factors. Pain may be mild to severe, and it can be constant or intermittent. Other symptoms may be present such as numbness or tingling, especially in the fingers.

Your physical therapist will begin by evaluating your elbow, wrist and hand pain with an upper body screen. The evaluation will help your therapist assess your current strength, flexibility positions of pain and coordination capabilities. Pain control, range of motion, stretching and other flexibility maneuvers will be incorporated into your treatment sessions and home exercise program. Specific treatments may include a wide range of treatments such as manual therapy, dry needling, heat/ice treatments, and nerve glides.
