Breast Cancer

Breast Cancer Screening Recommendations:

  • A baseline mammogram is recommended between the ages of 35-40.
  • A screening mammogram is recommended yearly after the age of 40.
  • Age 50+ continue yearly screening and discuss with a provider when to stop.
  • Routine Self Breast Exams are recommended. Tell your provider right away if you notice any changes in the way your breasts look or feel.

Need help paying for or scheduling your mammogram?

Women's Way may provide a way to pay for breast and cervical cancer screenings for eligible North Dakota individuals. Women's Way may also provide patient navigation services to help women overcome barriers and get timely access to quality care. Limited diagnostic procedures are also available to women enrolled in Women's Way.

Women who may be eligible:

  • Live in North Dakota
  • Are ages 21 through 39, have symptoms (lump) or at high risk for breast cancer, are due for a Pap test, or need breast or cervical diagnostic procedures
  • Are ages 40 through 64
  • Meet income guidelines
